Germany manager Joachim Low has encouraged reported Liverpool target Mario Gotze to hold discussions with Carlo Ancelotti before making a decision on his long-term future.

The midfielder has found minutes tough to come by at Bayern Munich since Pep Guardiola took over in the summer of 2013 and as such, has failed to build on the stellar potential he showcased at Borussia Dortmund from an early age. But Low thinks, with Ancelotti to replace Guardiola next season, Gotze shouldn’t rush into any decision yet.

“I had a talk with him last night about his situation at Bayern Munich, and we decided he would play against Italy in Munich next week,” said the manager, per Sami Mokbel of the MailOnline. “We had great talks about his situation, and there will of course be a new coach in Bayern next season, so the first thing he should do is talk to the new coach.”

Mokbel reports that Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp, having overseen Gotze’s rise with BVB, is keen on bringing the player to Anfield this summer.

Despite his struggle for regular football, the raw talent of the Germany international is beyond dispute. Here is a look at what he’s capable of producing:
